As a Dancer,

He was never an accomplished dancer in his adolescent years, except for in Tap dance and Hip Hop. As a young adult, Andrew furthered his Ballet training wth Stelio Calagias in Toronto. Stelio was the first instructor who taught Andrew how to adapt his training for his differently shaped body. Long legs aren’t all they’re cracked up to be. Since then, Andrew was able to develop at a much faster rate and began booking professional work in Jazz dancing and theatre.

Today, Andrew is one of the leading Tap dance artists in the country. He’s globally recognized and is a staple in the Toronto arts scene. He’s performed on some of the most prestigious stages in North America, such as Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto and on the main stage at Berkeley Repertory Theater in Berkeley California. He’s also worked in film, tv, and music videos as a dancer (as well as actor and singer).

As a Choreographer,

Andrew has had some wonderful experiences working with children as young as 4 years of age, to professional adults on union sets and stages. On the screen, he choreographed commercials (Tim Hortons), music videos and short films (Dance The Film), while on stage he was choreographer on EQUITY productions such as BRIGHT STAR (Garner Theatre Productions), GRAND GHOSTS (Tap choreo - The Grand Theatre), ONE STEP AT A TIME (Stratford Festival), and assisted lead choreographers in productions such as Monsoon Wedding (Berkeley Rep Theater) and Beauty and the Beast (Young People’s Theatre).

In the competitive dance world, Andrew’s choreography has won an incredible number of choreography awards as well as overall highest mark awards. Of course, credit is due to the dancers who put the work in and bring his vision to life. Andrew knows what judges are looking for, as he’s a judge himself, and can shape eye-catching pieces together for dancers of any age and level.
