Andrew has always loved teaching dance, music, and drama. He’s been teaching for over 15 years and has recently shifted his focus to Tap dance, theatre tap/jazz, Hip Hop, as well as acting.

Growing up, Andrew was never a strong or advanced dancer, and having the need to approach techniques from various methods has enabled him to not only better his craft, but better understand where struggling students are coming from.

Having young children himself, and being a very hands-on father has opened a new understanding for Andrew while working with many young children, from able-bodied to differently abled, delayed or with learning disabilities, or children who are ahead of the pack.

Some notable institutions where Andrew has taught: Sheridan College (Oakville), St. Lawrence College (Brockville), Metro Movement (Toronto), Byfield Dance Experience (Toronto), ODC Dance Centre (San Francisco), Neptune Theatre School (Halifax), Vancouver International Tap Festival (Vancouver), DC Tap Fest (Washington DC), Eastern Canadian Rhythm Project (Newfoundland), InterDanza Dance Convention (Mexico), Toronto Rhythm Initiative (Toronto), Eastern Canadian Tap Conference (Mississauga), Operation Tap - Technique Tuesdays (NYC), TapperFest (Tap Dance Centre), as well as many dance studios across North and South America.

As an adjudicator,

Andrew has worked with festivals and competitions across North and South America over the last 15 years. Being highly educated in an odd combination of styles from Tap, Hip Hop (and its sub genres) to Jazz, Theatre and BALLET, Andrew has become a sought after dance judge and instructor. Since becoming a father, his adjudicating style changed, as he and his colleagues found his critiques to be truthful yet blunt. Thanks to being open and honest about his desire to grow in this field, he reached out to dance studio owners, his fellow judges and teachers for guidance as to how to find the right balance between being concise yet nurturing. He’s figured it out and is grateful for the opportunity to shape young dancers and share the knowledge he has.
